What got you started playing Derby?
About 6 years ago I met Tuff Noogies of the Kansas City Roller Warriors. She introduced me to derby and I fell in love with both of them. As soon as I found out that I could play also, I started getting ready, and here I am living the dream.
Why did you choose your derby name and number?
Being a Flint Hillbilly I learned at an early age the greatness of Duct Tape. Out in the hills of Kansas it is almost never heard of for a vehicle to not have a roll of Duct Tape under the front seat or in the trunk. It seemed only logical to take Duct Tape as my name. 55yds = 55 yards is how long a standard roll of Duct Tape is.
What is your favorite moment playing derby so far?
Playing!!! Scrimmage, Games, Skills, I love it all.
What is your favorite position to play on the track?
Just being on the track is cool enough for me.
Do you have a bout day ritual?
As much of nothing as possible.
What do you do outside of derby?
Disc golf and playing with my dog.
What would you tell people who would like to join a derby team?
DO IT!!! Can't skate? We'll teach you. Can skate? We'll teach you how to hit other people on skates!
Anything special about your gear?
My gray snowboarding socks and my Duct Taped Helmet.
Do you have a favorite derby quote?
Slay The Dragons!!!
